Action Steps Person(s) Responsible Time-line: Start/End Needed Resources Evaluation
Unfortunately I had problems copying and pasting the research plan as a table. The following is the information regarding my plan in the order of the above descripters.
1. Meeting with administration to outline the upcoming action research plan. Myself, Chris Holson and my local course supervisor, Bobby Easterling. Meeting date : 8-12-10 1 hour of time in administration meeting office. All in attendance will be asked for their input, and will be asked to fill out a short meeting evaluation.
2. Meeting with high school faculty to explain the action research plan. Myself and high school principal, Paul Lippe, and high school counselor, Carla Cooley. Meeting date : 8-13-10 1 hour of time in library will be required. Twenty dollars from principal fund will be used for drinks. Snacks will be home made. All in attendance will be asked for their input, and will be asked to fill out a short meeting evaluation.
3. Students and faculty will fill out a survey based on their beliefs regarding the educational benefits of the Apple i-touches. Myself, high school principal, Paul Lippe, and high school counselor, Carla Cooley. Survey Date: 8-17-10 The survey will be performed on the students i-touches. Approximately 15 minutes of class time will be required. Survey data will be kept for a base to compare future surveys.
4. Students and faculty will take the same survey at the end of each semester. Myself and high school principal, Paul Lippe, and high school counselor, Carla Cooley. Survey Dates: 12-10-10 and 5-26-11. The survey will be performed on the students i-touches. Approximately 15 minutes of class time will be required. The survey data will be compared to previous data.
5. The grades of students will be compared with their previous two years grades in math, ELA,social studies and science. Student names will not be used on any released documents. Myself, high school principal, Paul Lippe, and high school counselor, Carla Cooley. At the conclusion of each semester. The approximate dates will be 12-12-10 and 5-28-11. Current electronic grade-book technology.
Data will be disaggregated into all AEIS reported sub-groups.
The 2011 TAKS results of students will be compared with previous year's results. Myself, high school principal, Paul Lippe, and high school counselor, Carla Cooley. Will be determined upon results release date. (Approximately 8-25-2011.) AEIS data of current and previous three TAKS tests. Data will be disaggregated into all AEIS sub-groups.
6.Discipline referrals will be compared to those prior to the Apple i-touch program. Myself and high school assistant principal, Vincent Lavallee. Approximately 5-18-11 Discipline records kept by Mr. Lavallee. Data will be disaggregated into all AEIS reported sub-groups.
All information will be compiled in a summary report of findings regarding how the new Apple i-touch program effects Jim Ned ISD as a learning community. Myself, Chris Holson, high school principal, Paul Lippe, high school counselor, Carla Cooley, and assistant principal Vincent Lavallee. 09/15/11 Results of all surveys and data. All data and surveys will be disaggregated into all AEIS reported sub-groups. It is my hope that the data will show a distinct change in the learning community environment. However the continuation of the action research will probably be required.
